Bold Cilgerran Border Stripe 8212

Cilgerran Narrow loom . Subtle all over stripes finished with a bolder border in red and gentian violet.

Made in the period after the ' new' purple dye became readily available( 1870) and the weavers began to experiment with it ( previous to this purple had been just for the rich and royal ! )

Cream with fine silver and red stripes , bold red and violet border , herringbone weave and ofcourse as its made on a narrow loom joined up the middle by hand.
