Nineteenth Century Narrow Loom Blankets

Made on the single loom of the19th century , consisting of two widths joined up the centre, often by hand.

Before 1900 these blankets were the norm , but some smaller mills and individual weavers never changed over to the wide looms and continued to produce narrow loom blankets right up to the 1930’s , However, whilst the earlier blankets were mainly striped in the twentieth century the style changed to plaid’

A highly collectable blanket but one which is still very usable.
