Simple square within a square patchwork with three early Victorian prints.

Sophisticated colour tones in red with black ( small darn ), a seaweed design, ever popular with the Victorians, in brown and bordered by a fine lavender print .

The reverse  is a Victorian white cotton showing fine hand quilting  including fans and spirals .
