Wonderful Victorian Purple print with a fine grey wool reverse.
Two ribbon prints on a fine purple stripe , reverses to a soft grey wool/ fine flannel. Quilting is of a splendid cross hatching lattice.
Extremely popular in the mid to late Victorian period , the queen herself favoured this colour but it was equally popular in many households for furnishing to servants attire.
The purple dye often faded over the years and this one has a slight colour change which is only noticeable when laid flat and not when on the bed - considering its well over a hundred years old its doing very well !
Rare and unusual .
