Rare early Welsh tapestry blanket in silver grey with amber and black.

Considered the most taditional  pattern known as Caernafon or Portcullis  which was woven  in many of the mills in Wales .  A very old design known to be woven locally at Rock Mills and also at Elvet and Trefriw who   added  small squares in the 1920' s . ( This one very possibly from Trefrw )

Lovely early weight - a wonderul collectable that is still very usable .

These early tapestries look great on the bed but thay also make stunning Wall hangings!
